USE OF PIEZOSURGERY IN IMPLANT DENTISTRY

Abstract

Piezosurgery is a new and modern innovative method of bone surgery in implantology. The purpose of this review was to present, through a literature review, the clinical applications of piezosurgery in implant dentistry and outline their advantages and disadvantages compared to conventional surgical systems. The main advantages of this technique are precise cuts, absence of thermal damage and preservation of soft tissue structures. Thanks to the use of piezoelectric surgery, increased efficiency the preparation of the site for the implant, bone grafting, elevation of the sinus floor, splitting of the edentulous crest, lateralization of the inferior alveolar nerve. The reduced blood loss the risk of complications is minimized.
